It’s the last Saturday in January and this has been an interesting week for losing weight. I managed to forget to weigh in before eating this morning, but I promise that I’ll update my totals tomorrow. It’s been a good week for going to the gym. I have been twice already and plan to go [...]
Well, I must say that I’m doing better with my Gut Check spending, but I’m still not 100% there yet. I am trying, but just like in the beginning of any fitness/diet plan, you’ll have your failures. It’s just a matter of getting back on your feet, brushing yourself off, and getting right back at [...]
Since things haven’t slowed down for the past few days, I’m going to resort to posting the occasional NBNW Quickie until I can rebuild my bank of posts. To be honest, I should have just put a post a day and I would have been covered for a month, not two weeks. Oh well. I [...]
Well, as you can see, this week has been a little lite so far in the posting arena and that’s because I’ve been too busy with day job. Have no fear. I plan on getting a few posts written today during my break between hearings and I will type it up either this afternoon or [...]
One thing that “Tweet”-ing about my spending has done is made me incredibly self-conscious about what I’m spending. I think this is a GREAT thing. I haven’t repeated ordinary or habitual purchases, but anything out of the ordinary really kicks me in the shins or reminds me of the whole “Gut Check Spending” post. If [...]
I’m never sure how much to write about the books that I read. Part of me loves sharing the key points, but another part of me wonders whether I’m giving it all away. Well, The Wealthy Barber, Updated 3rd Edition: Everyone’s Commonsense Guide to Becoming Financially Independent was a solid book that really gave another [...]
We’ve furnished our apartment with a great deal of second hand furniture. One thing we’ve been saving for is a nice piece of furniture to hold glasses and china. Nothing too fancy, but something that isn’t made out of fiberboard. After looking (and saving) for the past few months, we finally found a good china [...]
Well, today I have added a few little status bars on the right-hand side of the website.
The first reflects my goal to reduce my credit card debt in 2009. Again, my initial goal is to cut things by about 10% or almost $10,000. If I reach that goal earlier in the year, I will figure [...]
I know I don’t write this blog for the masses, but I would be lying if I said that I didn’t wonder if anyone out there (other than spammers) read this blog.
If you are reading this blog, please drop me a line and let me know (broke (at) nothingbutnetworth.com) or shoot me a message on [...]
As far as what’s on tap this week, I plan on adding a few goal trackers (New Worth and Weight) along with my 401(k) contributions. I am out of pocket Monday during the day, but we should be back to our normal programming either Monday night or Tuesday morning.
